Obituary for Brett Relph

Brett Relph, age 43, of Provo, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2016. He left this world doing two of the things he loved most in life - camping and fishing in the beautiful Payson Canyon.

Brett was born on March 15, 1973, to William Relph Jr. and Sharon Gamble. Following his parents' divorce when he was just six months old, Brett  and his two siblings were raised by their devoted father.  The family moved frequently during his childhood, living in various places from California to New York, before finally settling down in Provo where Brett attended Dixon Junior High and Provo High School.

Though Brett married and divorced twice, his first marriage brought him his greatest blessings: his two wonderful children.  His daughter and son were his entire world and his ultimate reason for living.  He cherished every moment he spent with them.

A painter by trade, Brett's true passion was music.  He was a drummer and an avid listener with a remarkable ear for talent; he possessed a keen sense for identifying rising artists bound for greatness and did everything in his power to promote and support them.

Brett will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, his signature long hair, his good looks, and a sharp wit that blended sarcasm and humor seamlessly.  To his family, he was the ultimate jokester, a brave, caring, faithful, and forgiving brother who harbored an insatiable desire to make it big someday.  He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, but he left us all far too soon.

Brett is survived by his beloved children, Alex (Alexandria) and Dallon; his granddaughter Aizley; his siblings, Cindy and Mark; his nieces, Sam (Samantha), uncles, cousins, and friends.  He was reunited in death with his parents, William Relph, Jr. and Sharon Gamble.

A celebration of Brett's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2016, at the LDS Welby 1st Ward chapel, located at 9376 South 4000 West, West Jordan, Utah 84088.
